Sometimes having a patient book with you at the last minute while you are out of the office and have to rush back to the office is less than desirable. You might want some buffer for that first appointment, so no one is able to book within a certain time period.

Click Setup

Search for "Custom Settings" or go to Build->Develop->Custom Settings

Click "Manage" for Calendar Config

Click "Edit"

Enter a value (in minutes) for "First Available Buffer Time"

Click "Save"
